AGRO Department Forum, Election 2025

As the first four-year term of the AGRO Department Forum approaches its conclusion, we are now inviting Agroecology staff and students to stand for election to the Department Forum for the new term, which begins on April 1, 2025.

Here, you will also find meeting minutes from previous sessions. Please note that all meetings and minutes are conducted in English.

Forum composition
The Department Forum is designed to reflect the size, composition, and diversity of the Department. It ensures fair representation of academic staff, PhD students, technical and administrative staff, and students. The Forum consists of 21 members in the following roles:

  • Head of Department and Chairman (1)
  • Head of Secretary (1)
  • Deputy chair: Appointed from among the elected scientific (VIP) staff members
  • Departmental member of the Academic Council (1)
  • Permanent senior scientific (VIP) staff (9): Representing each section (e.g., Full Professors, Associate Professors, Senior Researchers, Senior Advisors, Tenure-track staff, and AC-TAP)
  • Junior scientific (VIP) staff (2): One representative from Jutland and one from Zealand (e.g., Researchers, Assistant Professors, PostDocs)
  • PhD students (2): One representative from Jutland and one from Zealand
  • Technical and administrative (TAP) staff (2): One representative from Jutland and one from Zealand
  • Master’s student representative (1)
  • Bachelor’s student representative (1)
  • Forum coordinator (1)

Function period
Newly elected members will officially begin their terms on April 1, 2025, aligning future elections with the spring schedule:

  • Four-year terms for permanent staff representatives
  • One-year terms for short-term staff and student representatives

In April, we expect to hold a first, in-person meeting in Aarhus to formally launch the new term of the Department Forum. Future meetings will be conducted online, 2-4 meetings will be held annually.

The election process
Permanent VIP representatives
The election of the 9 permanent VIP staff must take place and be completed by 28th of February in the respective scientific sections:

  • Crop Health (CROP)
  • Crop Genetics and Biotechnology (CGB)
  • Plant Pathology and Microbiology (PLANTMIK)
  • Soil Fertility (JORNÆR)
  • Agricultural Systems and Sustainability (SYSTEM)
  • Soil Physics and Hydropedology (JORD)
  • Climate and Water (KLIMA)
  • Land-CRAFT
  • Agricultural Biodiversity (ABD)

Junior VIP, PhD students and TAP representatives
Nominations for the positions of junior VIP, PhD students, and TAP representatives can take place between 27th of January and 7th of February. Hereafter, elections are carried out on the localities.

Bachelor’s and master’s student representatives
Bachelor’s and master’s student representatives will be elected with the support of current Forum representatives, with elections completed by 28th of February

Nominations and election results for all positions must be submitted via email to Luna Kondrup Marcussen, lkm@agro.au.dk by the respective deadlines.
