AGRO, Open Access and unpaid publishing
There are several options if you want to publish in Open Access, first is to choose an Open Access Journal, second may be to pay for it as many journals require payment. But this is no longer the case. The Royal Danish Library has made agreements with both Elsevier and Wiley, which give researchers at Danish universities open access for their articles. This requires that the corresponding researcher is employed by a Danish university.
The agreement with Elsevier
The agreement with Elsevier provides open access for articles published in most journals under Elsevier. This requires that the corresponding author is affiliated with a Danish university, in this case Aarhus University, and it requires that an email address from Aarhus University is used.
The agreement runs from 2021 to 2024. Read more about the agreement at the Royal Danish Library's website.
The agreement with Wiley
The agreement with Wiley provides open access for articles published in all journals under Wiley. Like the agreement with Elsevier, it requires that the corresponding author is affiliated with a Danish university, in this case Aarhus University, and it requires that an email address from Aarhus University is used.

Increased visibility of Danish Open Access journals
In addition to securing the agreements with Elsevier and Wiley, the Royal Danish Library has initiated a project aimed at getting more Danish Open Access journals indexed in the Directory of Open Access Journal (DOAJ).
When a journal is listed in DOAJ, it is known that the journal is a scientific and verified Open Access journal. In other words, it strengthens the journal's impact and credibility.
