AGRO scientist is acknowledged by ST for her industrial collaboration
Senior scientist Lise Nistrup Jørgensen, CROP, has been appointed as recipient of the ST Industrial Collaboration Award
ST has chosen to appoint Lise Nistrup Jørgensen, CROP, as recipient of the faculty’s ST Industrial Collaboration Award. In plain English, this means that the industrious Lise has been officially acknowledged for her “exceptional efforts” in connection with her collaboration with the industry. The award was presented at the ST summer party “Summer Hangout” on 24 August 2018.
Lise Nistrup Jørgensen has great insight into the control of diseases in major agricultural crops, including the correlation between cultivation methods, conditions regarding cultivation techniques and their effect on disease development.
In her many years of collaboration with the agrochemical firms and plant breeders Lise has contributed to the development of disease resistant varieties and the selection of crop protection solutions that are both effective and economically optimal. She has also collaborated with SEGES on for instance development of decision support systems.
With her extensive knowledge, experience and network Lise contributes to ensuring a constantly sustainable intensive agricultural production with an adjusted and reduced use of pesticides.
- I am delighted and honoured to receive this award and feel that my long-standing collaboration with the industry has been – and still is – very exciting. It feels good to create usable data that can be used by both the agrochemical firms and the breeders or as a basis for the advisory service and ultimately by the farmer. The collaboration with the industry is in no way a “one man show”. The many trials and results which we gather every year take place in a close collaboration with accomplished field technicians and laboratory technicians. Therefore, this award is to a great extent also due to their great effort, Lise Nistrup Jørgensen says.
