Christmas greetings from Jørgen E. Olesen

The year 2020 will be remembered for many things, but especially as the year in which we all took responsibility. We took responsibility for each other, we took responsibility for our family, and community, and we took responsibility for our work and the tasks we are set to solve. At the beginning of the year, it looked like normal, maybe with a little trouble in China. That changed quickly, and by the end of March, we and most of the world were on our knees. But we managed - even though the situation was constantly changing.

I am impressed and proud of your adaptability, and your great commitment to finding solutions. It is no secret that we have many tasks - both in Denmark and the rest of the world. Not least teaching and policy support place great demands on timely care. We have succeeded in completing these tasks with great satisfaction from both students and authorities. We have also conducted our research - almost according to plan. It's because of your indomitable efforts. Thank you. In the past year, our researchers have made a great effort around research applications, especially in the green transition. It bodes well for the future - and it is necessary.

So, we have come incredibly well through a very difficult year. We are now looking into 2021, which will also be challenging. But we also have opportunities, and we stand on a solid foundation with experienced employees and with many young talents who show their worth on a daily basis. We therefore have a lot to offer, not least because we stand together when facing challenges.
