Wet soils on the agenda
AGRO will be holding an internal seminar regarding drainage measures, lowlands, and drainage of highlands. Our experts will meet to exchange knowledge and experience.
Some of AGRO’s efforts in the near future will be directed towards wet soils, nutrient emissions and related measures, including constructed mini-wetlands. This is in part due to the fact that we have been given a policy support task regarding drainage measures (read The future looks bright for AGRO).
One of the first steps to take will be to gain an overview of what we know and who has the expertise in the department. AGRO will therefore hold an internal two-day seminar for the lowland group on February 23-24, 2017 at Vitskøl Kloster in North Jutland. Here the participants can delve into the nitty gritty of the topics and get to know each other’s strengths better.
On the first day, the participants will be junior and senior VIPs who are working in the relevant areas, and will also include a few scientists from BIOS. On this day, a range of scientific talks will be given regarding topics such as lowlands, nitrogen transport in soils, databases, paludiculture, drainage of highlands, and constructed wetlands. The aim is to gain an overview of the research being done in the area and how we can use each other.
On the second day only seniorVIPs will participate. They will discuss an overall strategy for the area and for solving the specific tasks we have been given.
