After two and a half days of evaluation of the Department of Agroecology, an international panel has written a report with its comments.

The international academic evaluation of the department and its research strategy has just taken place over two and a half days. The report will not be published for the time being because the faculty management decided on 13 December 2018 to keep the report confidential and consider it as an internal strategic management tool for the faculty and department management teams. This means that the report cannot be sent to staff or others.

However, the department may inform its staff about the results and recommendations in the report. The department management will decide on the next steps and how the results can be disseminated.

The impression from dialogues with the evaluation panel is that the panel appreciates the very high academic level of research, policy support and education at the department. The panel members also point out a number of weaknesses and opportunities for strengthening our efforts and for developing new areas.

The department management team would very much like to thank all those who contributed to making this an academically good and positive experience for the evaluation panel. The management would especially like to thank Janne Hansen for her great efforts in completing the evaluation report and in coordinating the evaluation programme. Furthermore, Anna Dorthe Østergaard was a great help concerning the practical details, including ensuring that the members of the panel arrived and returned safely.
