Frands Christian Frantsen’s Scholarship
The Frands Christian Frantsen’s Funds will award scholarships and travel grants, typically amounting to 15,000 - 30,000 DKK. The overall purpose of the fund is to award scholarships and bursaries to excellent students, incl. PhD students, within the research areas of agriculture and wildlife biology. Students enrolled at the Faculties TECH or NAT at AU can apply.
Students in research fields relevant to Danish agriculture, food and wildlife biology (birds and mammals) can apply for the above-mentioned scholarships and travel bursaries.
For students, PhD students included, for either:
- Research stays in Danish or foreign research environments
- The use of special apparatuses or cost-intensive analyses
- Field work or
- Popular science promotion of research in relation to Danish agriculture, food and wildlife biology
Please note that general living expenses for paid PhD students are not supported.
The reception of a scholarship or travel bursary must not lead to prolongation of one’s studies, and hence the student must plan the use of the given scholarship as a part of her/his project process.
The board of trustees will decide on the number and sizes of the donations based on the incoming applications.

All applicants must use the application form. Applications should also contain infor-mation of possible other funding.
Applications should reach us no later than Tuesday 14 April 2020 at 12:00 noon. Please send the application combined in one pdf file to Birgitte So-Young Ahn, bsa@au.dk. The subject field must state “Frands Christian Frantsen’s Scholarship”.
Applicants can expect a reply on their application in the beginning of May 2020.
