The Faculty of Science again in 2020 offers the possibility of inviting candidates for a 3 – day Marie Curie Masterclass. The Class will take place May 12-14, 2020 in Aarhus. Typically, participants will be accommodated at CabInn in Aarhus (max 3 nights, i.e. from 11-14 May), attend the MasterClass (at AU Aarhus) and visit Foulum or Flakkebjerg before or/and after the Class.  Travel and accommodation (for the 3 nights) expenses will be covered by AU.

The idea behind the Masterclass is to secure strong candidates for the (Post-Doc) Marie Sk?odowska-Curie Individual Fellowship (MSCA-IF) . In addition to discussing and drafting applications for Fellowships, candidates will learn about AGRO, become acquainted with their potential supervisors and the research environments where they might end up working as Fellows. Should the Class, and the interaction, produce a positive match,  the candidate will need to submit a fellowship application by Sept 9, 2020.

The target group consists of young researchers, whether abroad or in Denmark, who wish to improve their skills by being part of a strong research group.  The researchers must be PhD or equivalent (by Sept 2020), and have strong CVs. Only researchers who have resided in Denmark for less than 12 months over the past 3 years (by Sept 9, 2020) are eligible for the Class. The Faculty stresses that you must pay attention to the academic quality of the candidates and only invite candidates with excellent CVs, as a minimum at least one first-authorship in an excellent peer-reviewed journal.

The AGRO leadership sees the Masterclass as a great opportunity for retaining talent and for recruiting new talent. Should you have anyone in mind then please send proposals to torsten.berg@agro.au.dk by Jan 29, 2020.

AGRO’s research committee will need to endorse and prioritize all candidates, following which a Faculty-level Steering Committee carries out a review (by late February) . A meeting for supervisors will take place in April or May, and supervisors will need to be present (at least in part, I expect) during the Master Class.
