Each PhD programme has a programme committee composed of members of the permanent academic staff and PhD students.

Please remember to vote.

Academic staff members of programme committees are appointed for three years and Heads of programmes are appointed for four years (both with the possibility of reappointment) by the Head of PhD School after consultations with the relevant departments. The programme committees discuss matters related to PhD studies at the departmental level and forward their recommendations to the Head of PhD School. Programme committee members from the academic staff take part in qualifying examinations and thesis assessments and many other tasks related to the PhD programme.

The AGRO PhD committee welcomes 5 new members in 2024. After ten years of work in the committee, Lars Elsgaard will be replaced by Iris Vogeler Cronin. We want to thank you Lars for his dedicated and professional work for the PhD programme. We also want to thank our “old” student members and welcome four new members: Nele Lohrum, Yiwei Shang, Ameesh Khatkar, and Stamatios Thomopoulos. We are looking forward to working with you:

Related to this I would like to remind you about the upcoming AU elections. Both Lis Wollesen de Jonge and Ameesh Khatkar are running for election. Do note that we also have AGRO candidates running for the AU board of studies and academic council. So please do remember to vote.

One of the yearly tasks in the committee is updating our PhD homepage https://agro.au.dk/en/education/phd-programme. All descriptions and guidelines have been revised, so please check them out.

Finally, we have four AGRO PhD courses in 2024. They are now open for registration so please do sign up:
