Topic: discussing the concepts of Organic Agriculture and Agroecology.
- Agroecology, agroecological methods, agroecological principles, principles of organic farming, organic agriculture, pesticide free agriculture – how do these concepts and terminologies interlink, are they similar, subsets of one another, disciplines or practices?
- Can agroecology as a research discipline include the use of pesticides?
- Is organic farming a complex of agroecological methods?
- ……?
These are questions that we find interesting, but they might not be answered with a clear yes og no.
We would like to invite for a hopefully constructive discussion to help clarify and bridge between different understandings and interpretations.
To give input for discussion there will be a few 5 min. ‘pitches’:
- Mette Vaarst, ANIS: What is the difference between agroecological principles and organic principles of agriculture?
- Tommy Dalgaard, AGRO: How is agroecology defined in the Department of Agroecology, AU?
- Lise Andreasen, ICROFS: Agroecological methods – the fundament for organic farming?
- Chris Kjeldsen, AGRO: Agroecology in a social science perspective – the case for methodological and theoretical pluralism
Chair: Jakob Sehested
