Plantcarb Aps
A new spin-out company named Plantcarb Aps has started in Flakkebjerg
The history behind Plantcarb is, that the dean's office some year ago took the initiative to screen for projects with a commercial potential, with the aim to start more spin-outs from the university's research. Kim Hebelstrup's projects with research into plant biosynthesis of starch arose Plantcarb which now has 7 employees.
On a daily basis, you can meet Dagmara Podzimska-Sroka, Rikke Bækhus Jakobsen, Søren Bonde Bruun, and Kim Hebelstrup in Flakkebjerg.
Kim Hebelstrup is still an associate professor in CGB section, but on reduced time (50%), the rest is finansed by Plantcarb.
The other employees in Plantcarb are Jan Mousing, who is Plantcarb's CEO, Nikolaj Forsberg (CCO) and Andreas Blennow (CINO), who in addition to his work in Plantcarb is a associate professor at University of Copenhagen.
Plantcarb's activities are mostly based on collaborative projects with AU and KU. Some are financed by the Innovation Fund Denmark. Therefore we hope that you will welcome Plantcarb and their employees, as you already know several of them, and we encourage good cooperation and good synergy. Furthermore, it is perfectly OK to help each other with questions. An agreement has also been entered between AGRO and Plantcarb, which involves the use of the facilities, instruments and consumables.
