Press inquiries to researchers

Dean sends advice to the press contact

The outside world is still very concerned about the beef case - and on our follow-up. Several media are persistently asking questions about the case, in particular the national daily Information. You have probably also noticed that an increasing number of journalists are reaching out to our researchers. And of course, they have every right to do so. Just as our researchers have every right to express their opinions. However, being contacted by the media and asked to make a statement can seem overwhelming for individual researchers, not least for those who are less accustomed to this.

Therefore, I would like to encourage you to make sure that your staff know who to turn to if they need help or support in connection with external communication. For example, they can talk to their immediate supervisor, the person responsible for communication at the department or at DCA/DCE, ST Communication– or they can come to you yourself.

Furthermore you can see more in this folder which can help researchers prepare for inquiries from journalists.

Even though journalists have taken particular interest in the DCA and DCE reports, we have also received requests for access to documents in other areas. Therefore, it is important that all our staff are told where they can find help and support for external communication.
