Reshuffling at SEGES
The new organisation at SEGES is almost in place. Among other things it has led to some changes in the crop production area.
In September 2016, the board of the Danish Agriculture and Food Council decided to reorganise SEGES. The objectives are two-fold: to bring SEGES closer to farmers, advisors and businesses and to make SEGES more goal-oriented and innovative.
The new organisation is now a reality and will take effect from 1 January 2017. See the diagram of the new organisation here.
- Strong interdisciplinary scientific environments will be created in the new organisation so that the best solutions will benefit all, says SEGES director Anne Lawaetz Arhnung.
There will be two new pillars: Innovation and Business. Innovation will be organised into the following seven interdisciplinary subject areas: PlantInnovation, EcologyInnovation, LivestockInnovation, BusinessEconomics, Construction & Environment, Breeding & Genetics and Future Farming.
Business will be organised into the five business areas of Law & Taxation, Veterinary & Quality aspects, Digital, Marketing & Professional communication and Competence & Growth.
The new organisation will affect, among others, the staff leaders in crop production with whom AGRO usually collaborates. Iver Ravn has been appointed director of Business, and Ejnar Schultz has been appointed director of Innovation. Among the other crop production leaders with whom we collaborate is Jens Bligaard, who has been placed in Business, while the others – Hans Thysen, Jens Elbæk and Kirsten Holst – have been placed in Innovation.
In connection with the announcement of the new organisation 20 members of staff have been made redundant. Since the analysis phase began at the beginning of 2015 and with the redundancies made now, approximately 40 posts have been eliminiated at SEGES.
