The first of the flagships is being launched
The flagship Sustainable Pest Management is preparing to set sail as the first of AGRO's four scientific flagships to be launched in the near future.
The ink on AGRO's strategy has barely dried before the first of our four scientific flagships is preparing to launch. It is the flagship Sustainable Pest Management that is setting sail.
On 1 March 2016 a brainstorming meeting was held in Flakkebjerg regarding this flagship, which is led by professor Per Kudsk. He had sent invitations to the meeting in order to get input from across the sections regarding what the scientific content of the flagship should be and which measures should be taken to make the flagship visible to the target groups.
At the meeting, representatives from several sections in both Flakkebjerg and Foulum set forth their ideas about which areas of research their sections can contribute expertise to the flagship. In addition, the gathering came up with a range of concrete proposals as to how the flagship and its contents can be made more visible internally as well as to the outside world. Examples of measures would be to offer summer schools and PhD courses with a focus on Sustainable Pest Management.
A communication plan has been prepared in which measures regarding communication are described, including what is to be done, who the target groups for each measure are, who is to carry out the tasks, and what the time frame and deadlines are for each measure.
In the near future the flagship will be described in more detail on AGRO’s website, PR material will be printed and popular sceince articles will be written that will emphasize that Sustainable Pest Management is one of AGRO’s scientific flagships.
The communication plan and the other ideas from the meeting can to a great extent be recycled when the other three flagships are launcehd in the course of the next months.
