Very serious societal situation - corona

Here is an update on how we handle the COVID-19 situation at AGRO. We are facing a societally VERY serious situation, which can only be solved if we all take the situation very seriously and follow the authorities’ guidelines, as well as do our utmost to avoid transferring the virus.

The faculty leadership group have meetings on a daily basis, where they make adjustments on how to handle the situation. At AGRO, the department leadership group convenes three times per week where we discuss and solve problems and upcoming issues.

I expect that present shutdown will last at least four weeks. Therefore, we need to prepare for work tasks and projects which will be difficult to solve/execute, especially when facing the upcoming springtime. The department leadership group will discuss this at the beginning of next week.

Until further notice, you are NOT allowed to show up at the workplace, unless the department management assesses that you need to perform critical work tasks. You will be contacted directly by your immediate manager about this. In that case, you must abide by attached guidelines.

All business travels abroad are cancelled. This also applies for business travels within Denmark, which have not been approved by your immediate manager as part of critical tasks.

Teaching has been converted into distance learning, and this seems to work without problems. Plans for handling examination is are in preparation.

PhD students must stay in contact with their supervisors. Mid-term exams will be postponed, whereas we are working on finding solutions on how to conduct PhD defenses.

All employees, who are able to work from home, please continue to do so and communicate via the Internet, and/or by mobile phones. Some sections have already held section meetings over Skype for Business.

If you get sick with COVID-19, we urgently ask you to contact your immediate manager.

Please take good care of yourself and of your close relatives.
