Drop-in meeting - the World´s Bread Basket is on fire
The terrifying and unacceptable war in Ukraine calls first for our sympathy and compassion with the Ukrainian people. That´s crystal clear. Ukraine is well known to be the World´s Bread Basket exporting 10% of all wheat in the world and also being the largest exporter of sunflower oil. We have already seen the war having global impact on food supply and food prices with serious consequences for millions of people

- The global food production, food supply and food prices by Senior Advisor Henning Otte Hansen, Department of Food and Resource Economics, University of Copenhagen.
- The humanitarian consequences of the unstable food supply and the increased food prices for especially the poorest part of the World´s population by Director Anne Poulsen, World Food Programme (Nordic office)
