New Mentorship Pilot Program for Postdocs is now running

We’re happy to share that 13 mentors and mentees have now been successfully matched as part of the new Mentorship Pilot Programme for Postdocs at the Department of Agroecology. The program has been developed by a dedicated group of postdocs and senior VIPs, with the goal of supporting early-career researchers’ professional development and well-being.

Matches have been made across all three main departmental locations, and everyone is looking forward to starting their mentoring journeys. One mentee shared:
"Thanks for offering your time to act as my mentor. I’m looking forward to picking your brain and learning from your experience as a guide for my scientific career."

The program aims to create space for conversations, where mentors offer their time and presence for confidential sparring and guidance on work-related topics. For postdocs, this can mean support in clarifying career goals, navigating decisions, and strengthening a sense of balance and confidence in their career paths. As one participant put it:
"I believe this initiative can be especially valuable for me as a postdoc, especially referring to my mentor’s expertise and longstanding experience at Aarhus University, which I’m sure will offer valuable guidance and perspective."

The pilot will run until next summer and will be evaluated before deciding on future rounds. We hope it becomes a lasting and valued initiative for supporting our talented postdocs.
