William Gamble Fellowship

The School of Agriculture, Food and Ecosystem Science (SAFES) is seeking applications of an overseas visiting fellow for the William Gamble Fellowship

The William Gamble Fellowship was established in memory of William Gamble, who was a principal of the Dookie College from 1916-1921.

  • The William Gamble Fellowship has a value of $12.500 and will cover travel cost and living expenses.
  • The fellow will be an overseas visitor and can be a postgraduate (PhD) student, postdoctoral fellow or academic.
  • The fellow will be based in SAFES for up to three months and ideally work at the Dookie campus.
  • The fellowship is open to all disciplines, but preference will be given to candidates that will have a connection to the Dookie Campus or be placed at Dookie for a period of time.
  • Candidates for a fellowship will outline the purpose of their visit including its connection to Dookie (eg. contribution to teaching and research at Dookie), and have the support by a current member of staff.

Eligibility: The fellow will have to be based at an overseas institution either as a staff member or PhD candidate.

Length of visit: up to three months (can be longer upon request), travel has to commence in 2024.

  • Statement about purpose of visit including dates (500 words), the statement needs to outline the connection of the project to Dookie Campus
  • Support letter by SAFES staff member
