AGRO’s WPA will be studied further
A working group is going to look further into the areas of AGRO’s physical and psychological WPA that can and must be improved.
The results of the recent workplace assessment (WPA) at Aarhus University were made public on 9 April 2019, showing the assessments at the university, faculty, department and section levels.
You can see the workplace assessments here.
AGRO will now dig deeper into the replies from the department’s own members of staff and take action on the issues for which this is necessary.
Generally, the results of our physical WPA are satisfactory, but the same cannot be said about our psychological WPA. Here, too many feel harassed, bullied or lonely. Furthermore, some feel overtaxed by their tasks and find that they cannot get them done within normal working hours.
You can see an extract of the figures in this presentation of AGRO’s WPA.
AGRO will deal with the problems
The issue was discussed at a meeting between the local liaison committee (LSU), the local occupational health and safety committee (LAMU) and the AGRO management team on 3 June 2019. A working group has now been set up whose members will look further into how the problems can be solved. Their first meeting will be on 21 June 2019.
An essential element is to be able to pinpoint where the problems are. As the replies from the psychological WPA are anonymous, that does not follow as a matter of course. If you experience harassment or other similar problems, we therefore urge you to contact your supervisor or the head of your unit or section or somebody else whom you trust, your union representative or a member of the LSU or the LAMU. First and foremost, they need to know where the problem is and then get your acceptance to go on working with this issue.
- It is quite unacceptable that some of our colleagues cannot come to work without feeling harassed. We will therefore open a discussion of the possibilities of creating a working environment in which everybody respects and treats each other correctly, says the chairman of the new working group, Section Manager Mogens Nicolaisen. He aims for the group to have something ready by the beginning of September 2019.
Here are the names of the members of the Local liaison committee (LSU) and the Local occupational health and safety committee (LAMU).
