What is a team? This is how senior consultant and business psychologist Mette Lindhart set out on a morning, where all the colleagues at MARK were ready for a day of collaboration.

A team is “a small number of people with complementary skills who are committed to a common goal, performance goal and approach for which they hold each other accountable.” (Katzenbach & Smith) Explained Mette Lindhart as a starting point. And throughout the day the group talked about and worked on topics like:

  • Cooperation
  • Communication
  • Core Task
  • Teams
  • Trust
  • Results
  • Accountability
  • Ownership
  • Constructive conflicts

In addition, the participants worked in different groups, where they found five topics that can challenge good collaboration and good communication.

  1. Gossip
  2. Lack of trust
  3. Lack of communication
  4. Unresolved conflicts
  5. Lack of expectation reconciliation

In five groups, the participants worked out what the organisation, management, team and the individual employee can do to reduce the challenges, respectively. The various proposals and solutions were subsequently reviewed and handed over to the management, who will continue to work with the various inputs where possible.
