The use of the Quality Management System is being simplified - new version per 1 May 2023

Another minor revision of the quality management system is now in place

As always, you can find the system and the procedure here: https://tech.au.dk/en/consultancy/about-public-sector-consultancy/quality-assurance/quality-management-system.

Initial simplification of the system: One-page quality assurance procedure

The first major step towards a simplified use of the system has been taken with a new, condensed version of the quality assurance procedure on one page plus a checklist (see the condensed Procedure 7 here: https://bit.ly/3APMYgc).

The one-pager should make it easy to see what needs to be done in the procedure. It is intended that condensed versions of all the procedures used when solving a task will be made over the course of the next year. The original procedure is kept in the system as the explanatory, elaborative background for the compressed version.

Remember the pixi!

Remember that there is a pixi version of the quality management system here: https://tech.au.dk/en/consultancy/about-public-sector-consultancy/quality-assurance/quality-management-system/pixi-the-quality-management-system. The pixi can make it easier to understand how you use the quality management system.

Does the compressed procedure work? Help make the system easier to use

The easier the system is to use, the better it is used, is the MBU rationale behind the simplification. Therefore, it is important that you, the users of the system, speak up if you see other possibilities to make it easier to use the system. For example, is it a good way to simplify the system to make condensed procedures? Simplifying the system is a goal in itself in 2023

In March, MBU decided to maintain the goal of making the system more flexible, so that it becomes easier to use without losing its purpose. The purpose of the system is, in short, to document the credibility of our science-based advice (and the ditto of monitoring and emergency response). The advice is first and foremost based on research, high quality, arm's length, transparency and consistency. Furthermore, the system must function as protection against pressure from stakeholders, requisitioners and others from outside who may have an interest in how and when the advice is delivered.

Assessment of subcontractors and other changes – background for the revision

Another important change is that the assessment of subcontractors should now be done in Workzone (See Procedure 5). All changes to the system are listed in the attached Appendix X. Overview of revisions. This is the ordinary revision that follows the management's evaluation of the system in Public Sector Consultancy Committee for Technical Sciences (MBU) on 27 March 2023. The overall system is thus now available in version 9, which applies from 1 May 2023.
