A not quite new but at least improved SDD concept in AGRO
An improved SDD concept encourages continuous alignment of expectations, clarification and follow up.
In 2016 we introduced the use of musskema.dk in connection with the Staff Development Dialogues (SDD). The new system has several advantages not least that it is online instead of on paper. At the completion of SDD in 2016 it was clear that we needed to make some adjustments to the system before the next SDD. An industrious work group has in the course of 2017 done a good job and we are now pleased to present not a completely new but at least an improved SDD concept that will be adopted for the first time in the beginning of 2018. There will be no SDD in 2017.
First and foremost, especially for VIP, there will be significantly fewer questions to answer – in fact less than half of the number last time. In addition, the questions will be more or less the same for everyone no matter whether they are TAP, PhD or VIP. This will make it easier to discuss across the groups and articulate commonalities and possible follow-ups. The questions are divided in two sections – the year that has passed and the year to come. This enables us to both evaluate and look ahead.
In additon, there will be significantly more focus on staff development. To start with, this will be carried out via GDD (Group Development Dialogue), where the group together with the department head and section manager can have a dialogue about the present and future situation, including if the group is sufficiently prepared with regard to skills in relation to known and expected tasks. Thereafter, there will be an individual focus in connection with SDD.
Last but not least, SDD has been extended to include skills. Each year an overall SDD theme will be selected and on the basis of this theme certain skills that everyone should have to varying degrees depending on the position will be determined. The theme for 2018 is ”collaboration” and the qualifications under this theme include ”followership”, ”innovation”, ”the good colleague” and ”recognition”. A more detailed description of what the various skills entail will be prepared before the next SDD.
An important part of the improved SDD concept is that it encourages continuous alignent of expectations, clarification and follow ups. The plan for SDD 2018 will therefore be as follows:
- A group-specific GDD (VIP, TAP, junior, or any other meaningful constellation) will be held in each section in January.
- An extended section meeting, where GDD is discussed across groups, will be held. This could be done using presentations from the various GDD groups followed by group work.
- Individual SDD will be held.
- Section meetings will be held (in May) that will follow up on SDD and GDD.
We look forward to the new concept and many good and productive dialogues in 2018. And remember – the things you shed light on grow!
