Information on financial adjustment in AGRO
On Monday 1 March, Dean Eskild Holm Nielsen explained the significant financial challenges the faculty faces from 2022.
For AGRO, this means that we must find annual savings of DKK 10 million. Agreements have already been made, which will lead to a salary reduction of DKK 2.5 million. It therefore remains to be seen where we will find savings for the last DKK 7.5 million. kr.
An LSU meeting will be held on Tuesday 9 March, where alternatives to savings via resignations will be discussed. This is followed by a period until 25 March, when anyone who wants to use a senior scheme or voluntary resignation can report this. Should actual layoffs become necessary, the criteria for this will be discussed at an LSU meeting, which will be held on 23 April.

The management of AGRO has continuously strived to trim the department's finances with efforts in education, research, and consulting. And since there is a need to increase the volume of investments in order to keep up with the development that is within our area, there are hardly any major savings to be found by closing down research facilities or reducing operating costs. Savings will therefore mainly have to be found in the wage budget.
As alternatives to actual redundancies, the management proposes to include a number of elements in reducing wage costs, including:
- Qualified layoff
- Senior and severance schemes
- Adjustment of wage regulation in connection with wage negotiations
In connection with the adjustments on the personnel side, we will include a number of overall priorities, which include includes:
- Continued high quality in task solution
- Balance between tasks and staffing
- Ensure a basis for generational change of VIP and TAP
- Ensure a basis for increased repatriation of research funds
