Down to earth celebration of JORNÆR leader
Section Head Jørgen Eriksen, JORNÆR, recently marked his 25 year work anniversary in Foulum.
It might be that Section Head Jørgen Eriksen, JORNÆR, had the idea that his 25th work anniversary on 1 February 2016 could be celebrated with as little pomp and circumstance as possible and that he therefore sufficed with having it in the section’s coffee corner in the angle between two corridors in Pv24 in Foulum – but things did not go that way.
Quite a crowd showed up to congratulate the modest and down-to-earth leader of JORNÆR, Jørgen Eriksen, on his 25 years of public service.
In the course of the numerous years during which Jørgen has become both a doctor, professor and section head, he has earned respect and many good relations.
In his talk at the anniversary celebration, Head of Department Erik Steen Kristensen emphasized Jørgen’s academic excellence, which includes an average production of four peer reviewed articles per year and an admirable H-index of 22. However, Jørgen’s academic prowess was not all that Erik is aware of. He praised Jørgen’s ability to build team spirit and get the staff to pull together, which had made it possible to pull through an autumn that was under a lot of policy advice pressure.
Professor Bent Tolstrup Christensen (upper left) also gave a short talk in which he stated with a twinkle in his eye that he likes having a boss who does not trip you up when you are walking down the hall.
Speeches were not the only thing on the agenda. There was also a song about ”Doctor Sulphur” and a hat planted with various herbs from his down-to-earth JORNÆR colleagues.
Spirits were high at Jørgen’s 25 year anniversary.
