The office situation in AGRO Foulum
Over a long period of time, we have had difficulty finding office spaces for new employees and guests in AGRO at AU-Viborg, and we have now reached a point where the situation is unsustainable and very unsatisfactory, also for the permanent staff.
That is why we in the department management are looking at possible solutions. We have, among other things, talked about new forms of office distribution, where employees do not have a fixed workplace, but we do not think that time has come for this yet.
Many wish to reopen PV32, but this has major financial consequences, and as long as there are vacant buildings at AU-Viborg, these will have to be used before we open up PV32.
The department management is primarily looking at the possibilities of moving an entire section to another building, so that the cohesion of the sections is maintained. Furthermore, it must of course be prioritized that sections and employees who need access to the laboratory stay near them.
It is a very challenging situation, because the scope of our research is growing, and as a consequence of this the number of employees will grow too. We are now looking into the fact that, new educational programs will also be accommodated at AU-Viborg, over the years to come. This means that the use of the buildings constantly will be changing. Therefore, we cannot guarantee that the new office constellations we make this year will be permanent solutions. We need to adapt our use of the buildings to our needs continuously.
We work together with the other departments to provide sustainable solutions. When we are closer to a possible solution, the department's management will provide more information at a meeting.
