Not a week goes by without coverage of activities at AU Foulum in the newspaper Viborg Stifts Folkeblad or other local media. However, you can still meet local citizens who claim they know nothing about what is going on at the research centre in Foulum.

On Tuesday, 29 September the public was given yet another chance in that the library in Viborg had organised an evening that centred on research carried out at AU Foulum – with a focus on sustainability in agriculture.

There were two lectures that evening. The title of the first one was "The cow, the calf and the climate" and it dealt with how we can ensure good and profitable dairy production with a focus on cow health and the climate. The other lecture dealt with nitrogen consumption and how we can alter our lifestyle and consumption to benefit the environment. This lecture was called "Footprints, consumption and environmental impact".

The speakers were the two PhD students Morten Graversgaard and Jesper Overgård Lehmann, who were met with an interested audience with a wide range of opinions regarding agriculture and food production. .

The two PhD students were given an interesting and educational possibility to present and discuss their research with an audience with various perceptions of research. The two young scientists did a very good job of it.
