I have got a new colleague

Just as in other parts of the department the Secretariat is working at full stretch. It has therefore been decided to increase staffing around the department management team.

It is important that we give our new colleagues a good reception and introduce them to the department. This is something that we in the secretariat will work on in the coming time. Chinette Overgaard Møller started at the beginning of the new year and will be coordinating this task. She will also work on other HR tasks. Finally, Chinette will carry out PA tasks for the department management team.

Specifically, this means that we now have two function mailboxes:

The head of department mailbox is to be used if there is a need for approval of/signature on applications and contracts. This mailbox has been functioning for some time, but not all have started using it. We strongly urge you to do this so that it does not depend on individuals to ensure signatures.

HR Breve is to be used for enquiries about appointments. So far, Karina Rysholt Christensen, who was our only case officer, has dealt with most of our HR tasks, and this has been an unsustainable solution for a long time. In the long term, Chinette will also be able to assist with this.

Welcoming new employees in the department

At some time during the spring, we will introduce an online welcome meeting for new employees, which is to be held approx. six times a year.

At this meeting we will go into for example:

  • The way the department is organised
  • Daily work, research freedom and data management at AU
  • What we can assist with/facilities in the department such as
    • Statistical support
    • Laboratories
    • Field trials
    • Project home pages and social media
    • Data management
    • GIS
  • Practical things that need to be followed up on a daily basis
    • Working hours
    • Personal home page
    • Travel booking
    • Credit card and settlement
    • Finance support
    • Filing
    • Updating of diary
    • Booking meeting rooms and cars
