We are now beginning the work of developing the MSC degree programme in Plant Science

In a year’s time, we will be ready to welcome the first class at our new Bachelor’s degree programme in Plant and Food Science.

In the time leading up to next year’s commencement of studies, we are working at full stretch on planning the details of the courses, renovating buildings and purchasing equipment for the shared teaching laboratories. In addition, the advertising agency Envision is working to make future students aware of our new degree programmes through a recruitment campaign, which will soon be launched via various media. The campaign film has its sneak preview on 11 October at 12:00 and can been seen via Zoom

Another piece of good news is that the Erasmus Mundus Master’s degree programme in Soils and Global Change (IMSOGLO) will continue with student admissions at AU from 2025 and for a four-year period. Read more about IMSOGLO here: Master's degree programme in Soils and Global Change (au.dk)

The MSc degree programme in Plant Science will start in 2027

Although 2027 is far away, we are already beginning the preliminary work on our upcoming Master’s degree programme in Plant Science. The structuring of the Master’s degree programme will take place in a working group where the members are gathered from across the department and in collaboration with the Department of Food Science, the Department of Ecoscience and AU’s Centre for Educational Development (CED). If you would like to participate in the working group, please contact Bo Vangsø Iversen or Anne Sofie Nielsen.

The MSc degree programme in Plant Science is based on a wide-ranging qualifications profile in which the graduate acquires knowledge and understanding of a wide range of different subject areas, such as plant physiology, genetics and breeding, the impact of agriculture on the environment and the general role of crop production in society.

In our new Master’s degree programme, there will be elements from our existing degree programmes, but as with the BSc degree programme, the new degree programme will student centrered with an integrated curriculum. The focus will be on a project-based and practice-based teaching.
