Applications for funds
During the last couple of years, we have been very active submitting project applications
According to ReAp 239 project applications were submitted in 2020, and in 2021 we have submitted 190 project applications so far. In 2020, the success rate on average for all funding agencies was 35%. It is important that we are thorough when the applications are prepared and submitted.
We have two types of external financed projects:
- Grant financed
- Commercial projects
Grant financed (TFV)
Many years ago the guideline Research project – from idea to reportin was “born”. It has been updated regularly, based on advice and feedback.
In particular, I would like to highlight the following:
- All budgets must be sent to the department's controller for approval, and must be entered in ØC's forms. Also, the funding budget form must be attached
- A file must be created in WorkZone (by the secretariat), in which all correspondence is journalized
- If field trails are planed, please contact the manager of the research station for budgetting of man power
- When something is sent for approval / signature to the head of department, a completed coversheet must be attached. Please use the email address head.agro@au.dk
- The research support office must be involved in all EU applications
- TTO must be involved in cooperation agreements and contracts
For some funds, the department requires an internal review process. Even if an internal process is not announced, it would be a good idea to have a colleague look it through to see if the application hits the specific tender correctly.

Commercial projects (IV)
IV is requisitioned tasks from businesses or authorities. For this kind of projects, many of the same rules as described above apply. In cases of research-based advice, the same rules used for quality management in relation to public sector consultancy are used. For more information look at the Tech faculty guidelines https://tech.au.dk/en/consultancy/about-public-sector-consultancy/quality-assurance/quality-management-system/.
DCA special consultant must always approve IV contracts.
If in doubt, come and ask….
