Diversity and gender equality committee

Purpose

The purpose of the committee is to contribute to maintaining and developing an attractive, open, and diverse working environment.

Tasks

The tasks of the committee are:

  • To contribute to execution of Action Plans on equality at university, faculty, and department level. Furthermore, monitoring of progress in the department.
  • To identify, analyse and discuss diversity and equality issues at departmental level and suggest initiatives to the Department management.
  • Prepare proposal for a gender action plan on short, medium and long term, with regard to objectives and initiatives.
  • In collaboration with other departmental committees, arrange events at the department that contribute to the understanding and solving of diversity and gender issues.
  • Annual reporting to the Department management team.

Composition

Each section in the department can have a member in the committee. There is a chair person and a deputy chair person. Election is held at the last meeting of the year - here a new deputy head is elected. The current deputy chair person will become head of the committee the following year. 

Meetings

The committee has minimum 4 meetings per year, and the meetings will be in English.

The member from STAB will do the minutes from meetings, and they will be published at the Department intranet.
