Purpose
The purpose of the committee is to contribute to maintaining and developing an attractive, open, and diverse working environment.
Tasks
The tasks of the committee are:
- To contribute to execution of Action Plans on equality at university, faculty, and department level. Furthermore, monitoring of progress in the department.
- To identify, analyse and discuss diversity and equality issues at departmental level and suggest initiatives to the Department management.
- Prepare proposal for a gender action plan on short, medium and long term, with regard to objectives and initiatives.
- In collaboration with other departmental committees, arrange events at the department that contribute to the understanding and solving of diversity and gender issues.
- Annual reporting to the Department management team.
Composition
Each sections in the department can have a member in the committe. There is a chair person and a deputy chair person. Election is held at the last meeting of the year - here a new deputy head is elected. The current deputy chair person will become head of the committee the following year.
Meetings
The committee has minimum 4 meetings per year, and the meetings will be in English.
The member from STAB will do the minutes from meetings, and they will be published at the Department intranet.
